An animated miniseries following Sun Wukong after emerging in modern day Boston after Isabel Tang, a 3rd generation immigrant from China, shatters her late father's Qing Dynasty jade necklace. Wukong, realising his powers are weakened due to a curse from the Buddha, and after hearing of a rumour that the Buddha's Avatar is living in San Francisco, goes on a journey across America, along with Isabel, her 10 year old brother Constantine and her 3 friends, Samara, Chandler and Haley. But little do they know that the road from Boston to San Fran is filled with perils and trails they must overcome, including but not limited to rednecks, dinky hotels, car troubles, mental breakdowns, gay panics and the Red Hands, a Hong Kong crime triad whose leader has a fascination with Wukong.
