Bayonetta

Bayonetta takes place in Vigrid, a fictional city in Europe. The title character is a witch who shapeshifts and uses various firearms, along with magical attacks she performs with her own hair by summoning demons to dispatch her foes. She awakens after a 500-year sleep near Eggman's tombstone and finds herself in an unfamiliar area with no memories of who or what she is. Over time, she begins to remember what caused her current predicament. 500 years before the incident that caused Bayonetta's memory loss, there were two factions preserving the balance between darkness and light in the world: the Umbra Witches, who are followers of darkness, and their counterparts, the Lumen Sages, who are followers of light. The factions shared two distinct treasures, the 'Eyes of the World' (separately named the 'Left Eye' and the 'Right Eye') which they used to oversee the just passage of time. Both factions mysteriously disappeared from Vigrid under unknown circumstances. Bayonetta still has an ornate piece of jewelry which contains a small red gem, and believes this gem is the Left Eye of the World. While searching for the Right Eye, she often receives flashbacks that make her remember what caused her current predicament.

Ultimate Spider-Man (Japanese Dub)

In this universe (Earth-6160), Peter Parker was never bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, and continued on living life as a normal man. He married Mary Jane Watson, had two kids with her, works at the Daily Bugle, etc. But underneath it all, Peter feels that something is missing. He learns what that is when a message from Tony Stark reveals the secret, dark history of his world; Peter was meant to be a superhero, one of many that the Maker prevented from existing in his bid to rule the world. Invigorated by this sense of purpose, Peter accepts Tony's gift of truth and allows himself to be bitten by the radioactive spider. Thus, we now follow an older Peter Parker as he struggles with being a family man on top of patrolling New York City as Spider-Man.

The spinoff delves into the lives and experiences of individuals whose paths intersect with the central conflict but who remain outside the limelight of the main series. Through their eyes, we witness the chaotic and often hidden impacts of the vampire war on ordinary lives, as well as their personal struggles and revelations. Throughout these perspectives, major characters from the main series make occasional appearances, influencing the narrative indirectly. The character of V appears sporadically, his enigmatic presence casting a shadow over the events and provoking deep reflections on his role in the larger conflict.

Fables

It is set in the modern day and follows several of Fabletown's legal representatives, such as sheriff Bigby Wolf, deputy mayor Snow White, her sister Rose Red, Prince Charming, and Boy Blue, as they deal with troublesome Fables and try to solve conflicts in both Fabletown and "the Farm", a hidden town in upstate New York for Fables unable to blend in with human society. The series also deals with such other matters as the main characters' personal lives, their attempts to hide the Fables' true nature from regular humans (or "Mundies"), and, later, the return of the Adversary.

Bigby Wolf, formerly the Big Bad Wolf, is the Sheriff of Fabletown, a hidden community of fairytale characters located in 1980s New York City. He must solve a series of mysterious murders before everything collapses.

Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem (Season 3)

The Edo Era has ended after 260 years of history and the Meiji Era begins. However, bitter strife still continues between the soldiers of the new government and former Tokugawa retainers. New equipment and weaponry come into play, fighting for honor is no longer deemed important, and resolve is not enough to win battles. This is the time when new alliances are formed, foes become friends, friends get lost, and the surviving members of the Shinsengumi find themselves upon their return to Edo following their defeat at Toba-Fushimi. Each member of the Shinsengumi has their own motivations, struggles, and backstories, yet they are bound together by their common mission and loyalty to the Bakufu. As the series progresses, new losses awaits.
