Chapter 1: Shadows of Gotham
Early in the Caped Crusader's career, before he encounters many of the Rogues Gallery that would go on to define him, The Dark Knight wages a war against organised crime in Gotham City. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne attempts to help Gotham City by funding the mayoral campaign of District Attorney Harvey Dent, while his old childhood friend Oswald Cobblepot comes back to Gotham after a near twenty-year absence. Amidst this turmoil, mysterious allegations about the Wayne family legacy begin to surface threatening Bruce Wayne's reputation while Batman squares off against a militant group of criminals dedicated to exposing the corruption in Gotham City through any means necessary. Batman finds his dual identities colliding in ways he never could have foreseen, leading him to wonder if his parents were the pillars of Gotham he thought they were...
