Yonaka

Yonaka formed in Brighton in 2014, when vocalist Theresa Jarvis, guitarist George Edwards, bassist Alex Crosby and drummer Robert Mason came together while studying at BIMM. Their live shows built the reputation first: they played the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2016 and released their debut EP, Heavy, in 2017. In autumn 2018 they toured Europe with Bring Me the Horizon and Fever 333. The next year they signed with Fueled by Ramen and released Don’t Wait ’Til Tomorrow, which reached No. 38 on the UK Albums Chart and earned them a Best British Newcomer nomination at the 2019 Kerrang! Awards. In December 2019 they appeared on Bring Me the Horizon’s “Tapes.” Seize the Power, a mixtape with guest spots from Fever 333 and Barns Courtney, followed in July 2021. The band came back in 2025 with the singles “Problems,” “Cruel” and “Hit Me When I’m Sore,” leading into Until You’re Satisfied on Distiller Records. Alex Crosby co-produced the 13-track album with Dimitri Tikovoi, and it reached No. 25 in the UK.
