Thomas KailΒ (born January 20, 1977)Β is an American theatre and television director known for directing theΒ Off-BroadwayΒ andΒ Broadway productions ofΒ Lin-Manuel Miranda's musicalsΒ In the Heights andΒ Hamilton, garnering the 2016Β Tony Award for Best Direction of a MusicalΒ for the latter. Kail was awarded theΒ Kennedy Center HonorΒ in 2018. He has also directed the television seriesΒ Fosse/VerdonΒ (2019), for which he was nominated for twoΒ Primetime Emmy Awards.
