Biography

Ryuji Goda (Japanese: 郷田 龍司 | Hepburn: Gōda Ryūji) is a recurring character in the Yakuza series. He is first introduced as the main antagonist and final boss of Yakuza 2/Yakuza Kiwami 2. He is later featured as a protagonist in both Yakuza: Dead Souls and Ryu Ga Gotoku Online. In Yakuza 0, he makes a cameo appearance as a delinquent preteen boy. As an adult, he is the son of the 5th Omi Alliance leader, Jin Goda. He is also the second patriarch (succeeding his father himself) of the top Omi subsidiary, the Go-Ryu Clan. His recognition for his militance and strength as a yakuza, combined with the dragon tattoo on his back, has earned him the nickname "The Dragon of Kansai" (Japanese: 関西の龍 | Hepburn: Kansai no Ryū) - making him a rival to the Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu.
