Biography

Miss Scarlet (sometimes spelled as "Scarlett") is a character from the board game, movie, and franchise Clue. She is portrayed by Lesley Ann Warren in the 1985 film. Most commonly, Scarlet is portrayed as a femme fatale. Some editions specify her as being an actress or spy. As of the 2023 edition, she is stated to be gossip columnist who writes under the pen name of "Cyan". In the film, she runs a brothel in Washington D.C. Interestingly, although all suspects were originally portrayed as white and as of 2023 are several different races (Scarlett herself being Black), she was somewhat consistently portrayed as an Asian woman for a time, the only person of color among the suspects.
