Michael Giacchinoย (/dสษหkiหnoส/ย jษ-KEE-noh; Italian:ย [dสakหkiหno]; born October 10, 1967) is an American film, television, and video game score composer. He has received many accolades for his work, including anย Academy Awardย forย Up (2009), anย Emmyย forย Lostย (2004), and threeย Grammy Awards.
Giacchino is known for his collaborations with directorsย J. J. Abrams,ย Brad Bird,ย Matt Reeves,ย Pete Docter,ย Colin Trevorrow,ย Jon Watts,ย Gareth Edwards,ย Drew Goddard,ย J. A. Bayona,ย The Wachowskis,ย Taika Waititi, andย Thomas Bezucha. His film scores include several films from theย Mission: Impossible,ย Jurassic World,ย Marvel Cinematic Universe,ย Star Trekย reboot series, eightย Pixar Animation Studiosย films, multipleย Disneyย films,ย Rogue One,ย The Batman, and several other films. He also composed the score for the video game seriesย Medal of Honour andย Call of Dutyย and the television seriesย Alias,ย Lost, andย Fringe.
In 2018, he ventured into directing and, in 2022, directed the Marvel Studiosย Disney+ย specialย Werewolf by Night.
