Kristopher BowersΒ (born April 5, 1989) is an American composer, pianist, and documentary director. He has composed scores for films, includingΒ Green Book,Β King Richard,Β The Color Purple, The Wild RobotΒ and television series, includingΒ Bridgerton,Β Mrs. America,Β Dear White People, andΒ When They See Us.
Bowers is the recipient of theΒ Daytime Emmy AwardΒ for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition forΒ Amazon Prime Video's adaptation ofΒ The Snowy Day. He has garnered multiple nominations at theΒ Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards,Β Grammy Awards, andΒ Critics' Choice Awards.
Bowers co-directed, withΒ Ben Proudfoot, the short documentariesΒ A Concerto Is a Conversation (2021) andΒ The Last Repair ShopΒ (2023), winning theΒ Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film.
Bowers has recorded, performed and collaborated withΒ JosΓ© James,Β Jay-Z,Β Alicia Keys, andΒ Kanye West throughout his career.
