F. Murray AbrahamΒ (bornΒ Murray Abraham; October 24, 1939) is an American actor. Known for hisΒ roles on stage and screen, he has received anΒ Academy AwardΒ and aΒ Golden Globe AwardΒ as well as nominations for aΒ BAFTA Award, fourΒ Emmy Awards, and aΒ Grammy Award. He became famous for portrayingΒ Antonio SalieriΒ in the drama filmΒ Amadeus (1984), for which he won anΒ Academy Award for Best Actor.
Abraham debuted on Broadway in the 1968 playΒ The Man in the Glass Booth. He received theΒ Obie Award for Outstanding PerformanceΒ for his roles inΒ Anton Chekhov'sΒ Uncle VanyaΒ (1984) andΒ William Shakespeare'sΒ The Merchant of VeniceΒ (2011). He returned to Broadway in the revival ofΒ Terrence McNally's comedyΒ It's Only a PlayΒ (2014), receiving aΒ Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a PlayΒ nomination.
