Ethan Kai is a British actor. He is notable for playing Mehmet Suleyman in the BBC TV series The Turkish Detective in 2023. Born in June 1995 in Leeds, England, the 30-year-old budding actor has nine acting credits including Emmerdale Farm in 2016. Ethan Kai is of a mixed ethnic background including Mauritian. He is mistaken for Turkish due to his appearance in the TV series The Turkish Detective. Kai debuted with the TV series Mount Pleasant in 2016. The same year, he secured the lead role of Kasim Sabet in Emmerdale Farm and acted in 30 episodes. It was followed by his feature film debut Instrument of War in 2017 where he acted in the role of Frank Romero. Over the next two years, he made cameo appearances in Doctors, Killing Eve, and London Kills. As per his IMDb profile, he made no acting appearances from 2020 to 2022. His acting return was in 2023 with the TV series Carnival Row. That year, he also acted as Mehmet Suleyman in The Turkish Detective. He is represented by IAG Talent (UK) and United Talent (USA).
