Doom Patrol (John Byrne)

Eighteen-issue comic series written and penciled by John Byrne. During the series, the team consisted of the Chief, Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl, Faith, Grunt, Nudge, and Vortex and were based in the prison Key Mordaz, Florida, where they encountered the ghost of the soldier Elihu Washburn. During the run, they fought the vampire Crucifer and his minion Wormhole, a monster underneath Soames Lake in Antarctica, the Chief’s former business partner Dr. Erik Verdalian, beings who could devolve living things and inanimate objects, Rhonda Lorre (who played a part in Grunt’s origin story), the village chief T'oombala, alternate timeline versions of the Brotherhood of Evil (caused by time travel), a newborn who grew older as he sucked youth out of other people, people trapped inside of Nudge’s mind, and finally beings who resembled Vortex. They also crossed over with both the Justice League and Metamorpho.
