Diego Dionisio Luna AlexanderΒ (Spanish:Β [ΛdjeΙ£oΛlunaΒ aleΙ£ΛsandeΙΎ]; born 29 December 1979) is a Mexican actor, director, and producer, best known for his portrayal ofΒ Cassian AndorΒ inΒ Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryΒ (2016) and theΒ Disney+Β seriesΒ AndorΒ (2022β2025), for which he was nominated for aΒ Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Television Series Drama.
Following an early career in MexicanΒ telenovelas, Luna had his breakthrough in the critically acclaimed 2001 filmΒ Y tu mamΓ‘ tambiΓ©n. During the 2000s, he appeared in both Mexican and American films, includingΒ Frida,Β Open Range,Β Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights,Β The Terminal,Β Criminal,Β Milk,Β SΓ³lo quiero caminar, andΒ Rudo y Cursi. In the 2010s, his films included the science fictionΒ film Elysium, the comedyΒ Casa de mi Padre, and the animated musicalΒ The Book of Life. From 2018 to 2020, he starred as the drug traffickerΒ Miguel Γngel FΓ©lix GallardoΒ inΒ Narcos: Mexico.
Luna has appeared in numerous Mexican theatre productions and has produced both film and television projects, many of which featureΒ Gael GarcΓa Bernal. Since 2010, he has directed three feature films:Β Abel,Β Cesar Chavez, andΒ Mr. Pig. He is the creator and director of the 2013Β Fusion TVΒ docu-seriesΒ Back Home, theΒ Amazon StudiosΒ talk showΒ Pan y Circo, which premiered in 2020, and the 2021Β NetflixΒ scripted seriesΒ Everything Will Be Fine. In 2025,Β TimeΒ magazine listed Luna as one ofΒ the world's 100 most influential people.
