Angela Evelyn BassettΒ (born August 16, 1958) is an American actress. Known for her work in film and television since the 1980s, she has receivedΒ various accolades, including aΒ Primetime Emmy AwardΒ and twoΒ Golden Globe Awards, as well as nominations for twoΒ Academy Awards. In 2023,Β TimeΒ magazine named her one of theΒ 100 most influential people in the world, and she received anΒ Academy Honorary Award.
