Charlize Theron (/ʃɑːrˈliːz ˈθɛrən/ shar-LEEZ THERR-ən; Afrikaans: [ʃarˈlis ˈtrɔn]; born 7 August 1975) is a South African and American actress and producer. One of the world's highest-paid actresses, she is the recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Theron came to international prominence in the 1990s by playing the leading lady in the Hollywood films The Devil's Advocate (1997), Mighty Joe Young (1998), and The Cider House Rules (1999). Compared to the predominantly comedic approach of the 1984 G1 cartoon (at least in the first two seasons), this series more closely matches the serious tone of the Prime series and the Bayverse, with a greater emphasis on action and themes of familial bonds. The series adapts a large scope of story arcs for the characters, with their adventures combining elements of both fantasy and science fiction. Living for a long time on Earth inside their hidden base, Optimus Prime, along with his wife Arcee and the Autobots discover their special mystic abilities and try to use them for good while under the wing of the wise ancient Cybertronian Alpha Trion, who raised them and cared for them since they were babies.
