After the events of Halloween II, Michael and Laurie reunite and try to exhume their mother's grave. This results in the slasher killing Brackett, injuring several other people, traumatizing a young girl named Amy and Michael's body being stuck in a burning ambulance that is run off a cliff. Laurie is eventually taken to a sanitarium a year later after being in prison, and she is reunited with Amy who is still traumatized from that night and blames her.
