The Shopping List is a 2025 American psychological horror film written, co-produced, and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, based on the short horror game of the same name, and starring Dove Cameron, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ryan Gosling, Josh Hartnett, Courtney Cox, Andy Serkis, Jeffery Wright, and Michael Shannon. In the film, a woman named Claire moves into a town and goes shopping at night for supplies and food, only to be followed by an evil presence throughout, and she must escape and later confront her unknown fear. The Shopping List was released in theaters on October 24th, 2025; it received generally positive reviews, with praise for Cameron, Howard, and Shannon's performances and Shyamalan's screenplay and direction, as well as its atmosphere and respect to the source material. The film was massive sleeper hit, grossing $471 million worldwide. A sequel is in development with Cameron, Howard and Shannon set to reprise their roles.
