
"Il fu Mattia Pascal"
(By the same author of "Uno, nessuno e centomila") Mattia Pascal is a young Italian man who gets married to the daughter of an obnoxious widow. Bored of his life, he travels to Montecarlo without telling his family. Gambling at the casinos, Pascal wins a huge amount of money, but reads on a newspaper some dramatic news: a man at his native village has died, and has been mistaken for him. Since now, Mattia Pascal is officially dead. Initially shocked, Pascal decides to take advantage on the situation and, created the alter ego of "Adriano Meis", travels to Rome where he finds hospitality by death-obsessed Anselmo Paleari, and fells in love with his daughter. Troubles ensue...
