After the death of his wife in a car accident, Frank Bannister gained the ability to see and communicate with the spirits who linger on Earth. At first, he only uses this ability to con the people of the tiny town of Fairwater-- until an emanation disguised as the Grim Reaper begins killing off and implicating him in the murders.
