  • misterwolf Plot: After avenging her father Mace's death, Charley Ryder has become feared by Wyoming's organized crime and has earned a reputation for sharing the brutal rage of her father, causing her otherwise kind-hearted spirit to be overlooked. One day, while tracking the brother of Bennett St. John, the latter of whom she was forced to spare during her revenge, she finds a ten-year-old orphaned girl on the ground, passed out in the snowstorm. She decides to bring the child back home with her and nurse her back to health.

  • misterwolf The next day, the girl wakes up and identifies herself to Charley as Maisie Arizona. Maisie tells Charley about how her parents died and adds that a deputy stopped at her now-ransacked house and said that Robert Morgan sends his regards. Charley happens to know exactly who Robert Morgan is: Bennett's brother and Charley's primary target. She also realizes that Bennett was the one who murdered Maisie's entire family, and decides to legally adopt her, approved by the court of law one week later. However, Bennett is tasked by corrupt government officials to take Maisie away and place her in an orphanage, despite her already being legally adopted and well-taken care of by Charley. Bennett reluctantly accepts, but is secretly plotting to actually kill the child and work with Charley to apprehend Morgan so that he may eventually kill her as well.

  • misterwolf Charley and Maisie arrive in Cody, Wyoming and enter an inn. Charley asks Maisie to find a seat while she orders their lunch, and reunites with Harold McConnell, the marshall of Cody. He bonds well with Maisie, who is easily comforted by his morality and calm demeanor. When Bennett appears as sheriff William Mallory himself enters the inn, Maisie becomes terrified as she recognizes Bennett as the same man who killed her family. Charley is forced to stay where she stands in order to protect Maisie, but McConnell places a protective arm around her, telling her to stay close to him until Bennett leaves. Mallory hesitantly reveals that while he is sympathetic to Charley's cause and supports her choice entirely, and also expresses his hatred for Bennett, he is forced to comply with him as a result of being a trusted friend to the government and because they tasked his own deputy to carry out his task to take Charley away despite it being illegal to do so. Charley assures Mallory that he is not responsible for this, especially after he reveals that he agreed to comply only if the government accepted a solution if Charley refused to hand Maisie over; if she works with Bennett to apprehend Morgan instead of kill him, Maisie stays with her. Charley agrees to the terms, but before leaving as a means to prepare for the next day to begin the mission, she says to Bennett that he may be an ally, but he will always be dead to her for killing Mace.

  • misterwolf As Charley and Maisie leave, Mallory warns Bennett "If you think about betraying Charley, I won't stop her from shooting you, and I won't arrest her either." Charley knows that Bennett will not hold up to his word, so she plans to defend herself and also teaches Maisie how to shoot guns.

  • misterwolf Charley and Maisie meet Bennett at Yellowstone, and they consult its own sheriff, Quinton Bell, who dislikes bounty hunters coming into his town, namely Charley. Bell initially refuses to respond, but Charley makes a harsh threat to him after he tries to blackmail her into leaving by trying to place Maisie in an orphanage. Bell reluctantly provides them a clue to Morgan's whereabouts. After they find Morgan, Charley feigns an attempt to arrest Morgan; as she does, Bennett, as Charley expected, grabs Maisie hostage. Charley kills Morgan and reveals her true intentions to Bennett, and also pretends to mock Maisie before she winks at her. The wink encourages Maisie to break free and stab Bennett in his leg, and Charley escapes with her.

  • misterwolf Riding to a nearby cave, Charley and Maisie set up camp, while Bennett falsely reports Charley's actions as murder. However, Mallory does not believe him, as he speculates what truly happened. Maisie asks Charley why she has such a tough demeanor that covers her kind nature. Charley explains the tragic death of her father, opening up about how broken she was after three years since losing him, and also tells her about her mother Sue dying just one year ago. After shedding tears of grief and sorrow, and then looks straight into Maisie's eyes, Charley finally realizes what it truly means to be a parent and finds instant comfort as Maisie embraces her adoptive mother. The next day, Charley wakes up only to discover that Maisie has been kidnapped by Bennett and Bell, the latter's true colors coming to light. Charley, seeking the help of Mallory and their old friend Randall Overton, rides to Cody. Meanwhile, Bennett and Bell hold Maisie hostage; they are approached by Government agents, who realize that the two men have defied their deal with Charley. They end their agreement and ride away, frustrating Bennett and Bell.

  • misterwolf Arriving in Cody, Charley is confronted by a squad of lawmen who attempt to arrest her, but Mallory orders them to stand down. He reveals to Charley that the Government had informed him of their agreement with Bennett has been terminated, and this allows him and McConnell to drop the charges against Charley. When Charley, Mallory, and McConnell approach Overton, who is now widowed, he agrees to join them when he is told about the fact that Charley adopted Maisie as her own. A bounty is placed on Bennett's head for Charley, but everyone is forced to let Bell walk away, much to the frustration of Charley and her group.

  • misterwolf At Yellowstone, they find that Maisie has been moved and Bennett is nowhere to be found, as the group realize that he became aware of the bounty on his head. Bell ambushes them, kills Mallory, and injures Overton. He then challenges Charley to a duel, and she reluctantly accepts after he says that his next shot will end Overton's life. Charley draws first and kneecaps Bell; she then blackmails him into revealing Bennett and Maisie's location. It is the same river where Charley had shot down Harrison Rake.
