Dan Cain is a promising young student at Miskatonic University, a surgeon held in high regard by his peers and the other students. He's in a good relationship with the daughter of the dean, Megan Halsey, and all seems good. But, all that changes when he gets a mysterious new roommate by the name of Dr. Herbert West, a University of Zurich drop-out and a rather closed off and mysterious man who wants to 'further his studies'.
