  • misterwolf Plot: Demon lord Trigon plans to sacrifice his infant daughter to Sabbac, much to the dismay of his consort Arella, who is also the mother of the child. To protect her child from Trigon, she betrays the demon and escapes his realm, before naming her Rachel.
  • misterwolf In the present day, a 16-year-old Rachel lives with Arella, who is under the assumed name of Angela. Rachel is unaware that her father is Trigon, but after watching the news revealing that mayor Hamilton Hill was arrested, she discovers that she is a superhuman. She suspects that Arella knows about this, and confronts her; she confirms her daughter's suspicion, and reveals to her that her father is indeed Trigon. She also tells her that if she were to become a hero, she would have to "accept not only the city and its people, but.... Responsibility". Rachel berates Arella for not telling her the truth and leaves.
  • misterwolf Rachel spends the night with he boyfriend Garfield Logan, while Gerald, the principal of Rachel's high school, shoots and hospitalizes Arella. The next morning, Rachel is informed of this, and visits her mother in the hospital; she becomes riddled with guilt and says "She tried to help me, and I rejected her out of rage...". She embraces her superhuman side and becomes Raven, while Garfield reveals that he also has powers.
  • misterwolf Meanwhile, Rachel and Garfield's classmate Jaime Reyes also discovers his own powers, while Gerald becomes increasingly suspicious. Sheriff Ohiyesa Smith sees Raven as a hero, while crime lord Fish Mooney sees her as trouble. Mooney helps Gerald cover up his crimes, while Smith aids Raven.
  • misterwolf Rachel reconciles with Arella and tearfully apologizes to her, before running into Gerald; he suddenly knocks her down before he says "Did you really think I didn't know who you were... daughter?". His body incinerates, and in its guise, Trigon appears and reveals that the real Gerald has been dead for two years after retiring from his job. He kidnaps Arella and leaves Rachel to die, before Garfield and Reyes find her. Trigon kills Mooney to tie up all loose ends, while Smith sacrifices himself to save Rachel from Trigon's demons.
  • misterwolf In Trigon's realm, Arella asks why he wanted her and not Rachel, to which he replies "When she arrives, you will both be my sacrifices to Sabbac", and tells her that he is forced to sacrifice the only thing he has ever loved due to her betraying him. She responds to this by telling him that he will never know love. Rachel, Garfield and Reyes arrive in Trigon's realm, before Arella suddenly develops temporary telepathy to guide Rachel; she helps her overcome Trigon's demons and defeat them by advising her to trust herself before telling her to "Make your own destiny". Rachel confronts Trigon and battles him, while Garfield and Reyes free Arella.
  • misterwolf Rachel kills Trigon, but not before the latter destroys the portal lock to make the portal unstable; Rachel manages to stabilize it long enough for herself and the others to escape. Garfield adopts a new identity: Beast Boy, while Reyes studies his powers. Rachel promises to Arella that she will do her best to protect the innocent, and then the end credits roll.
