After a mysterious plague has ravaged humanity, we start the film with a country man mercy killing his dog Milo. Milo was infected with this plague, this man, Vernon. Treks into the woods around his house to bury the corpse, along the way it’s unclear whether Vernon is losing his mind, or something has happened to all the animals. Because all the animals talk to Vernon in distorted voices, leading him deeper into the forest to bury Milo. read more

Description of Vernon:
Vernon is clearly disturbed, having no issues mercy killing his dog Milo, and living alone in his country home. Vernon talks to the woodland critters about Milo and his life up to that point, whether the animals are actually talking or it’s all in his mind is unknown.
