The clown prince of crime, framed for a murder he didn't commit. When Thomas Elliot is shot and killed at the opera, all evidence points to the Joker — but this time, he's innocent. Joker is cackling, bloodied, and genuinely confused as Batman nearly beats him to death in the rain. It's a dark inversion: the monster who killed Jason Todd is finally innocent, and Batman's rage almost makes him the villain. The Joker's mocking laughter echoes throughout the film as a reminder of Bruce's greatest failure.
