Created in 1978 by Jim Davis for the slice of life comedy newspaper comic strip, Garfield is a fat orange cat who loves italian food and hates mondays, he lives with his pathetic white man owner Jon Arbuckle and his dog friend Odie. Garfield spends his days being a fat lard and a public nuisance. since his rise to fame in the 70's and 80's Garfield has starred in countless books, tv programs, and movies. he can be found on every possible piece of merchandise from scratch and sniff stickers to landline phones to existential depictions of eldridge forms truly lovecraftian in nature, he even has his own line of brain cancer causing lead mugs!! truly and icon of our times it is said that long after the common era has gone up in smoke the archeologists will find our relics and think us to be disciples of garfield. and they will be right.
