Synopsis

Witch Hat Atelier is an Eisner Award winning manga by Kamome Shirahama which, quite frankly, is what you would get if you mixed Ursula K. Le Guin's humane touch on subjects (in WHA's case, ableism, accommodations in society, and the act of teaching and learning, among other subjects) with a sense of whimsy, magic, and wonder of a Studio Ghibli cartoon. Thus, this adaptation needs strong voice acting to work, especially on the later, very emotionally charged scenes that often pop up in the work.

Description of Coco:

Coco is a shy yet enthusiastic young girl who finds herself becoming a witch when she's sold an illegal spellbook by the brimhats. She draws the symbols from the magic book, and her mother is turned to stone, which kickstarts the plot. Coco is supposed to have a light, cheerful, yet wavering voice that changes with her emotions, in my opinion. Any accent is fine.
