Walter Schmitz: Please. I'm no more an agent than you are a follower of Black Doom. I suppose . . . you are unable to forgive me for . . . you know who. (Shadow close his eyes and nods, telling him he knows who) But I want you to know . . . I never forgave myself either. I had a wife and daughter at home. The safety was off by accident. I was angry. I was doing my job. And it wasn't until after her death where I saw the error of my ways. I killed an innocent little girl. And GUN wanted me to be promoted for it and that alone. But I quit those monsters, never wanting to do something like what I did so long a go . . . ever again. But the pain . . . and shame . . . and regret . . . it would only get worse if I don't ask for your forgiveness. I see no use in this, but . . . believe me . . . I am truly sorry about Maria. She looked like a really sweet girl.
