Chris's family includes his manager, Paul Johnson, his widowed father, Hal, his older brother, Nick(who's a bartender and dating a much younger woman in her mid 20s), his older sister, Chloe(who's married and pregnant with her and her husband's first child), his second older sister, Mari(who's married with two kids), his middle sister, Carolyn(who returns home for the holidays with her boyfriend), his second middle sister, Brie(who is still in love with her ex-boyfriend, Chase, finds out she's pregnant which shocks her abusive husband), his middle brother, Jimmy(who just gotten out of rehab after a drunk rage the previous Christmas), his third middle sister, Lauren(who had recently had a child with her Jewish husband), his fourth middle sister, Mia(who's dating a much older man in his upper-40s), and his younger brother, Damon(who just gotten out of military school). Hal reconnects with his childhood best friend, Steve Thomas, who also has a daughter named Doris.
