On Earth 61 Captain Atom is the only hero after he accidentally killed the Justice League so now Captain Atom has to work extra hard to keep the whole planet safe working with Dr Megala and General Eiling. All is okay until prisoner Max Thrane gets similar abilities to Atom and becomes Ultramax. Thrane blames Atom for ruining his life so goes after Atoms son and tries destroying Earths last line of defence.
