In the movie Rachel finally meets Bruce and Alfred accidently hints that Bruce is Batman. While The Joker teams up with Scarecrow. The Joker is all over the news killing multiple citizens and hurting the ones Bruce loves, while Scarecrow makes Gotham their guinea pigs. The Joker ends up killing Scarecrow while he had Batman in his tower (Clown tower) Batman escapes but that's exactly what The Joker wanted and somehow its a trap to kill Rachel.
