Assassin’s Creed: Retribution is an upcoming dystopian science fiction action film directed by Justin Kurzel and written by Leigh Whannell, based on the video game franchise of the same name. Assassin's Creed: Retribution was released by Universal Pictures on January 1, 2027, in the United States and France. Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard reprised their roles with Leslie Odom Jr. joining the cast (replacing Michael K. Williams, who died in 2021) portraying the character of Moussa, a captive of Abstergo and a descendant of Baptiste, a Haitian Assassin in the 18th century Louisiana once he felt betrayed by the Brotherhood after he was allied with the Templars who is killed by the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré in 1766.
