Doctor Who Season 60 (2023)
So, the story begins with a pre-titles sequence of several German men drinking in a pub in early 20th Century Germany. They continue being rowdy and noisy before suddenly the windows are smashed in by a huge doglike beast, rampaging into the pub very violently, and well… the rest is left to our imaginations as we cut to the opening titles. After the titles, we see the TARDIS land in the Black Forest, and the Doctor steps out of the TARDIS soon after, with his hands wailing in the air, shouting “Madrid, 1985”. Claire steps out a moment after saying “The co-ordinates say this is Germany, trust me”. The Doctor looks disappointed before stepping back inside where the two of them see Harry sitting inside the console room. The Doctor gives Harry a nasty look, and Harry just says “I didn’t want to live permanently in Madrid, anyway”. Claire asks what year they’re in and the Doctor calculates it’s roughly the early 1920s, to which Claire says that’s about a couple of years after World War One, and that she’d quite enjoy checking out what Germany’s like in this time. The Doctor instructs Harry to stay put inside the TARDIS.
