My Own What if Doctor Who Wasn't Axed

What if Doctor Who continued to run well past 1989 all the way up to the present day. Some things remain the same, others completely change. It is heavily inspired by DaDoctorWhoFan’s series of the same name, and so some elements do persist.

The Doctor is the title character in the long-running BBC science fiction television programme Doctor Who. Since the show's inception in 1963, the character has been portrayed by thirteen lead actors. In the programme, "the Doctor" is the alias assumed by a millennia-old humanoid alien, a Time Lord who travels through space and time in the TARDIS, frequently with companions. The transition to each succeeding actor is explained within the show's narrative through the plot device of "regeneration", a biological function of the Time Lord race that allows a change of cellular structure and appearance with recovery following a fatal injury.

A hypothetical reality where Doctor Who was not cancelled in 1989! It will initially be based on known information about the plans of the proposed Season 27, but soon enough I'll be adding my own hypothetical additions. Whilst the events displayed within may not necessarily adhere to what would have realistically happened, I'm nonetheless hoping it shall prove to be, if nothing else, a fun endeavour for all.

Season 24 of Doctor Who ran between 3 January 1987 and 4 April 1987. It starred Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor & Bonnie Langford as Melanie Bush. The season opened with The Curse of the Rani and concluded with The Hollows of Time.

Doctor Who: Beyond 1989 is a series set in an alternative timeline where Doctor Who survived cancellation in 1989.

Dracula: Dead and Loving It (2017)

In 1893, solicitor Thomas Renfield travels from London to "Castle Dracula" in Transylvania to finalize Dracula's purchase of Carfax Abbey in England. Renfield meets Dracula, who unknown to Renfield, is a vampire. Dracula casts a hypnotic spell on Renfield, making him his slave. They soon embark for England. During the voyage, Dracula kills the ship's crew. When the ship arrives and Renfield is discovered alone on the ship, he is confined to a lunatic asylum.
