On the last day of summer vacation in 1962, friends Curt, Steve, Terry and John cruise the streets of small-town California while a mysterious disc jockey spins classic rock'n'roll tunes. It's the last night before their grown-up lives begin, and Steve's high-school sweetheart, a hot-to-trot blonde, a bratty adolescent and a disappearing angel in a Thunderbird provide all the excitement they can handle.

The Racket

As one of the only honest cops left in the city, Capt. Thomas McQuigg has his back against the wall when a large crime syndicate makes its way to his doorstep. After bringing aboard local mobster Nick Scanlon, the illegal organization intends to help place corrupt attorney Mortimer X. Welsh in a prominent government position. But, if McQuigg can stay alive long enough, he just might be able to bring down the crooks with a key witness.

In A Lonely Place

Hollywood screenwriter Dixon Steele and his neighbor Laurel are just getting to know each other romantically when the police begin questioning Dixon about his involvement in the murder of a girl he met once. Certain her new love interest is innocent, Laurel stands by Dixon, but as the police continue pressing him, Dixon begins to act increasingly erratically. The blossoming love affair suffers as Laurel begins to wonder if Dixon really might be a killer.
