He escapes along with his newly crafted friend Jack Pumpkinhead brought to life by Mombi's magic, and a wooden animal named the Sawhorse First they go to Emerald City now ruled by The Scarecrow which has been taken over by an army of women lead by General Jinjur, then they enter the land of Winkies where they seek help from the Tin Man who is now Emperor, the “Highly Magnified and Throughly Educated” Woggle Bug, and a flying couch with the head of of an animal named Gump. All seven of them have to overthrow General Jinjur and Mombi, while also finding the magic to restore the Land of Oz.
