Disney+ X-Men Series
2026 IMDB: 8.1 ROTTEN: Crit - 84% Publ - 90% The series follows a group of young mutants living at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, an institution designed to be a safe haven in a world that still fears and misunderstands them. When one of the students, Bobby Drake, disappears without a trace, the illusion of safety collapses. As Professor Charles Xavier and a small group of adults investigate discreetly, trying to shield the students from danger, it becomes clear that the threat is not external, but already inside their world. ⸻ SCOTT SUMMERS Scott is impulsive, stubborn, and burdened by guilt. His brother is dead, and his first manifestation of mutant powers resulted in people being hurt. He believes that acting first is the only way to prevent disaster. Throughout the season, Scott becomes an accidental leader — not because he wants to lead, but because situations demand it. His insistence on doing things his own way leads to mistakes and consequences. By the end of the season, Scott learns restraint, accountability, and shared responsibility, evolving into a calmer, more grounded leader. ⸻ JEAN GREY Jean is empathetic and perceptive, deeply honest about others but disconnected from herself. She limits the use of her telepathic abilities out of fear of crossing boundaries. Shortly before Bobby disappears, Jean chooses not to read his mind during a vulnerable moment between them. After his disappearance, she becomes consumed by guilt, convincing herself that she could have prevented it. This drives her to increasingly violate mental boundaries, causing conflict with the group and triggering uncontrolled auditory hallucinations. In the finale, Jean confronts Mister Sinister directly, unleashing a devastating surge of power that nearly spirals out of control. Her victory establishes her as the most powerful mutant in the group — and a future force to be reckoned with. ⸻ WARREN WORTHINGTON Warren comes from privilege and wealth, yet feels robbed of the life he was meant to have. He despises his wings and clings to the belief that money and status still offer protection. His arc is defined by his relationship with Kurt Wagner. As Warren realizes that privilege does not exempt him from exploitation, he is forced to confront his internalized self-hatred. By the end of the season, Warren does not fully embrace his mutation — but he stops rejecting it. ⸻ KURT WAGNER Kurt is charismatic, humorous, and widely liked. Unlike the others, he has never hated who he is. His humor masks the understanding that rejection is always a possibility. Through his bond with Warren, Kurt challenges the idea that acceptance requires conformity. His arc reinforces the theme that self-acceptance is not the absence of pain, but the refusal to let pain define identity. ⸻ ORORO MUNROE Ororo lost her parents early and grew up without stability. Xavier offered her a home, and in return she offers absolute loyalty. Rules represent safety; disobedience represents loss. This worldview puts her in constant conflict with Scott. As the school’s protection fails, Ororo is forced to accept that belonging is not earned through obedience, but built through trust and choice. By the end of the season, she chooses friendship over hierarchy. ⸻ MEGAN GWYNN Megan joins the group through her friendship with Kurt. She is kind, observant, and emotionally intelligent, quietly holding the group together. Her arc is subtle: she comes to understand that care, empathy, and presence are not passive traits, but essential forms of strength. ⸻ THE ADULTS CHARLES XAVIER Xavier believes secrecy and distance are the best ways to protect his students. The season forces him to confront the consequences of that philosophy. By witnessing the students succeeding and all this experience being extremely good for them as persons, Xavier thoughts changes HANK MCCOY & MOIRA MACTAGGERT Hank and Moira investigate the disappearances both within and beyond the school. Hank grows increasingly frustrated with Xavier’s passivity, while Moira grounds the investigation with him, Their partnership develops into a close bond, and a bit of romance LOGAN Mid-season, Xavier encounters Logan at the lowest point of his life and offers him help. Their interaction plants the seed for Logan’s eventual arrival at the school in the finale, expanding the future of the team. ⸻ ANTAGONIST NATHANIEL ESSEX — MISTER SINISTER Sinister represents prejudice stripped of emotion. He does not hate mutants; he studies them. Using Vanisher, Morph (under coercion), and Emma Frost — held captive to block Xavier psychically — Sinister operates unseen. Bobby Drake’s resistance disrupts the system, exposing the operation and forcing confrontation. The season ends with the formation of the X-Men, not as a superhero team, but as a statement: mutants choosing to exist openly, together, and on their own terms. Helping who they can
