In the wake of Darkseid's attack on Prime Earth, and the formation of the Justice League, the American government created an agency called the Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans, to handle all of the spillover from Justice League missions, and handle the debris afterwards. The agency's first head was Steve Trevor, for his military record and his history with Wonder Woman. He accepted, and A.R.G.U.S. officially came into existence the next day. Over the next five years, A.R.G.U.S. served honourably, liaising with the Justice League to build and supply The Watchtower, taking control of the Red Room and the Black Room, overseeing the creation of the Circus in Detroit (full of interdimensional visitors through the hole left by Darkseid's arrival) and Belle Reve, the nation's supervillain prison. Trevor recruited from his former squadmates in Team 7, hiring Amanda Waller and John Lynch.

Birds of Prey: Black Canary & Oracle

A new industrial complex in Rheelasia explodes at the opening ceremony. A group of men try to car jack Black Canary. She quickly deals with them and heads home where she has messages waiting, bill collectors. One better message, Oracle has a job for her. She leaves for the airport, but her car has just been repo'd, so she uses her last few dollars for a cap. Nick Devine gives a talk. He is attacked by violent protestors, but is able to easily fight them off and continue his talk, watched by Oracle. She's interrupted by a call from her father, Commissioner Gordon. He wants to take her to dinner, but she's busy. Dinah arrives at her destination and picks up the car Oracle has arranged for her, and Aston Martin. Oracle has left taped instructions, a new costume, clothes and communications gear for her. She attends a party thrown by Nick Devine. She introduces herself and gets him to invite her along. He has a bodyguard, Lynx, who dislikes her. Terrorists attack and Dinah helps defend him as Black Canary. He hires her on. Nick meets with the leader of Bwunda to discuss his next project, a dam there. Black Canary joins him on the flight to Bwunda. She sees the dam project and the country's abject poverty and decides that night to check out the dam. At the dam, she finds it being sabotaged. Lynx is behind it, and, Dinah realizes, Nick behind her.

Wally West thinks back about his superhero beginnings as Kid Flash which quickly seemed to come to an end. His young body could not sustain the speed powers and they threatened to kill him. Wally not only had to quit being a superhero, but he also had to leave his beloved aunt Iris to return home to his parents in Blue Valley because summer vacation was over. But the wounds of not being able to continue as Kid Flash just did not heal. Additionally, the problems Wally usually had with his parents heated up as well. One evening during a terrible storm, Wally just ran away from home. Surprisingly, his father Rudy West came after him but got crushed under a fallen tree while trying to rescue Wally. As a tornado came closer, it was up to Kid Flash to help his father. So Wally pushed himself past his limitations and was able to cancel out the tornado. Somehow, this incident also helped Wally to be able to keep his powers without killing his body. But more importantly, he now had a better understanding of how important his family was to him ...

Flash: Year One Part Three

A young Wally West just became Kid Flash and continues his superhero training with his mentor - the original Flash (Barry Allen). Wally is a quick learner, but some things like vibrating through objects did not come natural to him. During the summer several crimes occurred in Central City which were committed by duplicates who seemed to be acting as mirror images. It did not take long for Wally to find out the local villain known as the Mirror Master must be behind the incidents. But Wally made the mistake to go after Mirror Master alone and directly walked into a trap. Barry Allen came to his sidekick's rescue, but Kid Flash is also instrumental in the eventual defeat of the Mirror Master. But directly after this success, Wally learned that his speed powers were slowly having a deteriorating and fatal effect on his body!
