Aegon's Conquest

Aegon's Conquest, also called the Conquest, was the campaign in which Aegon I Targaryen conquered most of Westeros. Together with his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys, and their dragons, Balerion, Vhagar and Meraxes, Aegon subdued six of the Seven Kingdoms, successfully resisted only by Dorne. Not all the continent had to be taken by conquest, as some regions and houses actively supported House Targaryen and others submitted voluntarily.

Carmilla

Carmilla is a Gothic novella about Laura, a lonely young woman in an Austrian castle who forms an intense, unhealthy friendship with the beautiful and enigmatic Carmilla, a female vampire who gradually torments Laura with nightmares and a debilitating illness. The story culminates in the discovery that Carmilla is the ancient vampire Milara Karnstein. She is eventually hunted down and killed by General Spielsdorf and his men, saving Laura from further predatory attacks.

Persuasion

Persuasion is a novel by Jane Austen about Anne Elliot, who, as a young woman, was persuaded by her family's social circle to break off her engagement to Captain Frederick Wentworth due to his lack of fortune. Years later, when he returns, having achieved wealth and success, Anne must navigate their complicated reunion, confronting her lingering feelings and the societal pressures that once separated them, in a story of second chances and enduring love.
