The Evening Star
The Evening Star – Synopsis As the First Age of Middle-earth nears its end, the Dark Lord Morgoth has conquered nearly every free kingdom, leaving the Elves and Men on the brink of extinction. Amid the ruins of a dying world rises Eärendil, a legendary mariner born of both Elven and Human blood, who believes there is still hope beyond the western sea. When his wife, Elwing, escapes a massacre carrying the sacred Silmaril, the last great jewel of the ancient world, the couple undertakes an impossible voyage to the forbidden Undying Lands. Defying ancient laws and facing monstrous storms, enchanted seas, and unimaginable dangers, Eärendil seeks the mercy of the Valar—the immortal guardians who have long remained silent. Moved by his plea on behalf of both Elves and Men, the Valar launch the War of Wrath, the greatest conflict in Middle-earth’s history. As armies clash and the fate of the world hangs in the balance, Eärendil confronts Ancalagon the Black, the mightiest dragon ever to live, in a legendary battle above the skies. Though victory brings the downfall of Morgoth and the dawn of a new age, it demands a heartbreaking sacrifice. Unable to return to his family, Eärendil is chosen to sail the heavens forever aboard his radiant ship, bearing the Silmaril as the Evening Star—an eternal symbol of hope that will guide the peoples of Middle-earth for ages to come.
