The Hauntley family have to learn to do things the Pennsylvania way, especially when Vee is at school, all while keeping their monster lives a secret from humans so they don't scare them.

But something goes wrong and the machine ends up in the atmosphere. Later it starts raining food. The shifty Mayor Sherbourne (Peter Dinklage) tries to use this as a way to help their community, but when Flint senses something wrong with the machine, the mayor convinces him to ignore it. However, as Flint predicts, chaos ensues, but suddenly, things get out of hand when the FLDSMDFR creates dangerous food storms. And now it's up to Flint his new friend Sam Sparks (Florence Pugh) her cameraman Manny (Oscar Isaac) and his childhood bully Brent McHale (Dan Fogler) to stop the machine before it turns the world into a monstrous and dangerous mutant-food threat.

Set far into the future, a race of monsters called Kaiju arise from the Pacific Rim and overrun the continent of Australia. Humans build gigantic armed robots, Jaegers, to fight back, but fail and the continent is abandoned leaving only isolated pockets of survivors. Teenage siblings Taylor (Asher Angel) and Hayley Travis (Mckenna Grace) are left behind by their parents who leave to combat the Kaiju but never return. Five years later, Hayley (Lily James) stumbles across a long-abandoned training Jaeger called Atlas Destroyer which she and Taylor (Nick Robinson) activate and set out on a quest to find their parents. They not only have to deal with marauding Kaiju, but other survivors who are also fighting for survival and attempt to seize Atlas Destroyer themselves.

The D-Team meet their new enemies the Alpha Gang Ursula (Karen Gillan), Zander (Johnny Knoxville) and Ed (Wayne Knight) when they come to catch Chomp using Terry, their Tryannosaurus (Jason Deline). After this Max and Chomp become good friends, Rex and Zoe find their own dinosaurs Ace the Carnotaurus (Elijah Wood) and Paris the Parasaurolophus (Cristina Vee) and the D-Team, along with Dr. Taylor and his assistant Reese Drake (Emma Stone), now have their mission of saving the dinosaurs all over the world from being captured by the Alpha Gang for their nefarious schemes.
