My name is Mary Katherine Blackwood. I am eighteen years old, and I live with my sister Constance. I have often thought that with any luck at all I could have been born a werewolf, because the two middle fingers on both my hands are the same length, but I have had to be content with what I had. I dislike washing myself, and dogs, and noise, I like my sister Constance, and Richard Plantagenet, and Amanita phalloides, the death-cap mushroom. Everyone else in my family is dead...

Lady Death

In 1495, there once live a woman named Hope living in Sweden. Her mother died when she was young, so she only lived with her father. Her father was a war monger who drafts men to fight for him. However, little did Hope know was that her father was a descendant of a fallen angel and all the men he had drafted were being sent to the realms of Hell. The villagers discover what he was doing, however he escaped into Hell before being captured, leaving Hope behind. The villagers accused her as a witch for being the daughter of a devil worshiper and sentenced her to death. Upon the day Hope was to be burnt at the stake, she chanted the words that she overheard her father chanting in front of an alter. A demon was summoned and gave Hope a choice; either to abandon her humanity and live in Hell or die. Hope reluctantly chose to abandon her humanity and the demon granted her wish. She was then taken to Hell, and found that her father had been trying to overthrow Lucifer. She escaped the wrath of Lucifer and met up with the blacksmith of Hell named Cremator who helped her in training with a sword. Changes became noticeable, both her hair and skin turning white. Cremator gave her a new outfit to replace her prison rags- a black, two-piece bikini and a black cape with a pair of boots and arm sleeves. She battled against Lucifer and succeeded in defeating him. Upon his dying breath he warned her that if she killed him she would be cursed, becoming unable to leave Hell unless all humans (or his allies still walk) on Earth were killed. Hope disregarded the warning, and killed him, accepting the consequences. She then announced herself as the Queen of Hell and Lady Death.

The Worst Witch

focuses on Mildred Hubble, a young witch who attends Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches, a school of magic. Although well-intentioned, Mildred's clumsy personality leads the girl to disastrous situations, and she is thus considered the worst student in the whole school. The benevolent headmistress, Miss Cackle, is generally understanding, whereas Mildred's form teacher Miss Hardbroom thinks she just isn't trying hard enough. Mildred's friends include Maud Spellbody, a rotund, sensible girl who is always trying to avoid confusion, and Enid Nightshade, a practical joker who is more likely than Mildred to get them all into trouble. The three girls have a strong rivalry with Ethel Hallow, a high-born, snobbish and vindictive classmate.

Toffee is racked with indecision, but worst of all Miss Strict refuses to allow "zombie scum" in her fine institution. She clearly states that "The satanic walking dead are strictly prohibited at Enrico Fermi High." She even threatens to cancel the senior prom if anyone is caught supporting the "cadaver's cause." At the same time, word of this conflict reaches EDDIE FLAGRANTE, a slick sensationalist TV show host, who loves a lost cause. Eddie arrives at the school with his film crew to cover the story and make a "cause celebre" out of Jonny - "This sounds like a clear-cut case of Zombie Civil Rights!" But once he arrives, we see that he and Miss Strict share a past, shrouded in an elusive mystery. As crisis takes hold of the school, the following questions are raised - Will Toffee take Jonny back? Will Miss Strict let Jonny come back and finish school, or will she cancel Senior Prom, ruining the most important night in the lives of the students of Enrico Fermi High!?
