Tarzan
Having survived the brutal attack of Sabor, the hungry leopardess, an orphaned English infant shipwrecked off the coast of Africa is rescued and adopted by the compassionate, childless female gorilla, Kala. As she takes the baby back to the safety of her virgin mountain hideaway, inhabited by a close-knit community of gorillas, the boy grows into Tarzan: an intelligent member of the simian family. Then, suddenly, the beautiful and independent Englishwoman Jane Porter, her intellectual father, Professor Archimedes Q., and their duplicitous guide, Clayton, arrive in the isolated green realm bringing change. As Tarzan discovers his true identity and begins to harbour deeper feelings for Jane, will he be able to protect his beloved apes and choose between his home in the jungle and a new life in England?
Of Tooks and Tales
Being a collection of curious adventures and lesser-known doings of Belladonna Took, the boldest gentlehobbit of her age, and some of her kin, told in part by fireside, in part by memory, and some say, in part by moonlight." Within these pages are gathered the tales of Belladonna Took — daughter of the Old Took, mother of Bilbo Baggins, and (if whispers are true) one-time rider of a giant fox, winner of a riddle-game in the Old Forest, and guest at an Entmoot that wasn’t supposed to happen. From the high green hills of Tookland to the dim edges of forgotten Shire-lore, here are the stories she never told her son, and the ones she told too often for anyone to believe.
10 Things I Hate About You
Adapted from William Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the Shrew," 10 Things I Hate About You starts off with Cameron, new student at Padua High, sitting in the office of the quirky guidance counselor Ms. Perky. He is then shown around the school by Michael, who will become his best friend. During his tour is when Cameron first sees Bianca Stratford, a beautiful sophomore with one problem: she isn't allowed to date. And neither is her "shrew" sister, Katarina, a senior who loves indie rock and feminist prose and hates conformity. But Kat and Bianca's father alters his house rule: now, Bianca can date... as long as Kat has a date, too. Now, in order for Cameron to date Bianca, he has to find someone to date Kat. So Michael helps him enlist the help of pretty-boy/jerk/model Joey Donner, tricking him into thinking that *he* will get to take Bianca out if he pays someone to take out Kat. His choice: Patrick Verona, a bad-boy with a mysterious reputation--some say he ate a live duck once, others that he lit a state trooper on fire, and even more claim that he had a brief porn career. Will Patrick win Kat's heart? Will Cameron win Bianca's? Or will everything hit the fan...?
