This is a legacy sequel that takes place 12 years after the last movie [•REC] 4: Apocalypse. Few decades ago, a bunch of tourists/college grads/future family members witnessed the possession of La Niña Tristana Medeiros. And after that, they ran away for safekeeping and went back to their rural New York town. To keep the secret about what happened those past years ago to the prior of the possession. In the present day, those descendants of said members are students of Empire State University, led by Stephanie, a telekinetic girl who got powers due to an ancient lineage. Can the titular bloodline find the research, and church equipment, and gather intel to rid the world of the evil once and for all? Some secrets don't just stay buried. They evolve.
