The Holdovers

A curmudgeonly instructor at a New England prep school remains on campus during Christmas break to babysit a handful of students with nowhere to go. He soon forms an unlikely bond with a brainy but damaged troublemaker, and with the school's head cook, a woman who just lost a son in the Vietnam War.

Dr Don Shirley is a world-class African-American pianist, who is about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. In need of a driver and protection, Shirley recruits Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighbourhood in the Bronx. Despite their differences, the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of segregation.

Dreamgirls

Deena, Effie and Lorrell form a music trio called the Dreamettes. When ambitious manager Curtis Taylor Jr. spots the act at a talent show, he offers the chance of a lifetime, to be backup singers for a national star. Taylor takes creative control of the group and eventually pushes the singers into the spotlight. However, one becomes the star, forcing another out, which teaches them about the high cost of fame.

Clueless

Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai a makeover. The Truth About Cats and Dogs

Abby hosts a popular radio show about pets. When Brian calls in to ask about his quirky Great Dane, the two surprisingly hit it off. Brian pushes for a date with Abby, who is shy and a bit insecure, so she talks her ditzy neighbor Noelle into taking her place. While the confused and oblivious Brian tries to figure out why his date is so different from the host he spoke to, Abby must work up the nerve to confess, as Noelle is also falling for Brian.

College freshman Sydney White arrives at Southern Atlantic University, determined to pledge her late mother's sorority. Unfortunately, she finds that the sisterhood has changed since her parent's day. Banished to a condemned house, Sydney joins forces with seven outcasts to take over the student government and win equal rights for nerd and noted alike.

The Longest Yard (2024)

An ex-football star doing time is forced by the warden to organize a team of inmates to play against his own line-up of guards. Bogomil of the Beverly Hills Police Department does not trust Foley, and hinders his search for evidence.

Edward Scissorhands

A scientist builds an animated human being -- the gentle Edward. The scientist dies before he can finish assembling Edward, though, leaving the young man with a freakish appearance accentuated by the scissor blades he has instead of hands. Loving suburban saleswoman Peg discovers Edward and takes him home, where he falls for Peg's teen daughter. However, despite his kindness and artistic talent, Edward's hands make him an outcast.

But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages -- but him.
