FX’s Love Story: Harvey Keitel and Lorraine Bracco

This season sees the intense romance between Harvey Keitel and Lorraine Bracco get the spotlight. Adapted from Lorraine’s late 2000s memoir On The Couch, this installment of the anthology series will showcase the beginnings of their relationship from late 1970s France to the bitter custody battle over their daughter Stella, which nearly threw Bracco into a deep depression, and may have been the reason why she chose to play Jennifer Melfi in the Sopranos. Told over 10 episodes, this season tells two opposing stories: Lorraine’s journey to playing Karen Hill in Goodfellas, her career slump during the decade that was bookended by Scorsese and Chase, and how she reclaimed her life in the 21st Century. Then, Harvey’s career struggles in the Reagan 1980s, his career comeback with Bad Lieutenant and Reservoir Dogs, and how that sometimes came at the expense of his lover’s private pain. In the end, this is a story about the pitfalls of age gaps, the sides people struggle to take when a public couple breaks up in an ugly way, and whether love stories can ever be well defined.

Nobody’s Girl (2029)

This film will reveal the tragic life of Jeffrey Epstein’s greatest victim, showing the horrific abuse that she suffered throughout her life, and the courage she had in speaking out about the people who assaulted her. It will be a tough movie to watch, as it will showcase graphic depictions of her being abused by Epstein and his clients, and it will have only little happy moments. But despite all this, it will show how she managed to bring down a horrific underbelly of abused power and banality to held those accountable for their crimes, both in life and beyond the grave.

It will also showcase how the couple helped create a foundation that still helps physically disabled people to this day, and remind people that sometimes, heroes don’t wear capes or have superpowers.
