Scientist Bruce Banner is accidentally exposed to a high dose of gamma rays while doing genetic research. This event causes him to transform into the Hulk, a giant, green, and uncontrollable creature when he gets angry or stressed. Bruce's past is intertwined with the traumas he experienced in his childhood and his father David Banner's illegal genetic experiments. His father returns years later and wants to obtain his own powers. Throughout the film, Bruce confronts both his identity as the Hulk and the danger posed by his father.
