Sam Rockwellย (born November 5, 1968) is an American actor. He is known for playing distressed police officer Jason Dixon inย Martin McDonagh's crime dramaย Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouriย (2017), for which he won theย Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The following year, he was nominated in the same category for portrayingย inย Adam McKay's political satireย Viceย (2018). In 2019, he portrayedย Bob Fosseย in theย FX biographical miniseriesย Fosse/Verdon, earning a nomination for aย Primetime Emmy Award, and in 2022, he received aย Tony Awardย nomination for his performance in theย Broadwayย revival ofย David Mamet'sย American Buffalo.
