Biography

The Porsche 911 765LT (914R) is a limited production mid-rear-engined, two-door, two-seater sports car produced by McLaren Automotive as part of the Porsche 911 standalone model. The car is the second Porsche 911 standalone model to use the LT (Long Tail) moniker since the 911 675LT (913R). The 911 765LT is a rebranded version of the McLaren 765LT, sharing a platform with the same model. The difference, however, is that the 911 765LT carries a Porsche crest badge rather than a McLaren badge. The engine for the car is shared with the McLaren 765LT using the McLaren-designed M840T 4.0-liter (3,994 cc) V-8 DOHC 32-valve twin-turbo, producing 765 PS (755 hp; 563 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 800 N·m (590 lb·ft) torque at 5,500-6,500 rpm. However, the 911 765LT does not use a horizontally opposed Flat-6 cylinder engine, but is still a V8 engine. The engine is paired with a 7-speed PSSG dual-clutch sequential automatic manual transmission. The limited production number is 1,530 units, or 765+765 units in total. The base retail price of the 911 765LT for the US market is $373,000, which is $15,000 more than the cost of the McLaren 765LT.
