A sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men tell no tales were conceived in 2019, with Elliott and Rossio developing a story arc that would span the film. The film was shot in 2022. This also marks the final film of the series. With a production budget of nearly US$300 million, it was, at time of production, the most expensive film ever made. Walt Disney Pictures released the film in the United States on May 18, 2024. While the film received positive reviews with critics praising Del Toro's Direction, CGI, Han Zimmers Soundtrack, Chalamet, Dyer And Barnes Performances and writing, Battle Of The 5 Empires was the highest-grossing film of 2024, bringing in over $1.98 Billion.
