Biography

Magik (Illyana Nikolaievna Rasputina) (Russian: Ильяна Николаевна Распутина) is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is depicted most often in relation to the X-Men, and first appeared in the comic book Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975). Magik is the younger sister of the Russian X-Men member Colossus. She is a member of a fictional species of humanity known as mutants, who are born with superhuman abilities. Due to her time imprisoned in (and later ruling) Limbo, she is a powerful sorceress.[1] Her mutant power, which first manifested in that Limbo, is the ability to teleport via stepping discs utilizing that dimension's magic. Magik has been described as one of Marvel's most notable and powerful female heroes.
